This updated 449cc 4-stroke fuel-injected engine delivers the type of hard-hitting power and a flat torque curve that encourages quick acceleration. Engine maps are optimized for cross-country racing and are now tunable, using the new RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX on your smartphone, to change power delivery to best suit riding conditions and personal preference. New handlebar-mounted Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC) and power modes buttons offer on-the-fly adjustments for ever-changing off-road conditions. Electric start makes starting the engine as easy as a push of a button. A coned disc-spring hydraulic clutch offers a direct feel, light lever action, and consistent performance.

New drilled Braking/Sunstar discs (270/240mm) paired with a Brembo caliper and master cylinder at the front and a Nissin caliper and master cylinder at the rear deliver strong stopping power and a high level of control.
